West Bank: Israelis continue to take Palestinian lives
“The sound of Israeli live gunfire and rubber-coated steel bullets cracked in the air as ambulances raced back and forth carrying the wounded, while plumes of smoke billowed into the air from tyres set alight by protesters.” Israeli settlers renewed their attacks in various areas of the West Bank.
Violation of International Law:
Geneva Convention IV (1949), Common Article 3: “violence to life and person, in particular murder of all kinds” and “the carrying out of executions without previous judgment pronounced by a regularly constituted court, affording all the judicial guarantees which are recognized as indispensable by civilized peoples” with respect to “persons taking no active part in hostilities, including members of armed forces who have laid down their arms and those placed hors de combat by sickness, wounds, detention, or any other cause” are prohibited at any time and in any place whatsoever.
