“Instead of clinging to the aspiration for a Jewish majority, one should adhere to the principle of equality for all.” This was the message of the DAAM party in Jerusalem, which stressed that if the will and courage existed, the city can be transformed from one that symbolizes apartheid into a gateway of hope for one democratic state for all – a single egalitarian democratic state for Israelis and Palestinians. This is a step in the right direction, the direction of dismantling the Israeli Apartheid regime, starting with that of the city of Jerusalem.
