I’ve Been There: A Study of Torture and Inhumane Treatment in Al-Mascobiyah

Al Mascobiyeh, which is in the heart of Jerusalem, is Israel’s most notorious interrogation facility. Successive generations of Palestinians have experienced torture and dehumanisation within its walls.

 

One 30-year-old Palestinian woman describes her interrogation experience. She recalls: “I was deprived of sleep for hours on end and began to experience severe exhaustion. I began to hallucinate, and saw my three-year-old twin daughters running around me during the extensive interrogation sessions.”

 

The report provides first-hand accounts of torture and mistreatment in the facility. In reading these harrowing individual accounts, the reader comes to understand how they are rooted in a wider system of abuse.
